Pembroke Pines, Fl – Promoter, Roy Anthony, brings Rockfest 80’s back to South Florida for the second year in a row. This year the venue is CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, FL on November 4th and 5th. In it’s sophomore year, the Rockfest 80’s lineup was a fantastic mix of local bands, 80’s hair metal, southern rock and classic rock.
Among the performers scheduled to perform were local bands Mr. Nice Guy, Modern Day Outlaws and the up and coming young band, Mason Pace Band. The event was headlined on Saturday by Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and on Sunday by .38 Special, who filled in at the last minute for Lynyrd Skynyrd due to the medical emergency with Gary Rossington.
Other performers included Jack Russell’s Great White, Sebastian Bach, Lita Ford, Foghat, Little River Band, Stellar Revival, Cheap Trick and Dokken. The event was not without it’s small bit of controversy. In a last minute change on Saturday, Quiet Riot was removed from the lineup with no public announcement made of the change in the lineup.
