Vancouver, Canada – The Canadian party band Barenaked Ladies kicked off their “Fake Nudes” tour in Vancouver last Friday night.  Playing the first of two sold out shows back to back in the historic Commodore Ballroom, they had Canadian singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith opening both nights.  Special guest Alan Doyle from Great Big Sea introduced Sexsmith to the stage and also accompanied Barenaked Ladies during the acoustic portion of the show at the beginning of their set.   For the Barenaked Ladies, they opened the show playing an all acoustic set right at the front of the stage with a large white curtain hiding the rest of the stage.  After that they switched over to electric and carried on playing a variety of hits along with songs from the new album.  Barenaked Ladies are comprised of Ed Robertson on vocals and guitar, Jim Creeggan on bass and vocals, Kevin Hearn on vocals, guitar, keyboards and accordion, and Tyler Stewart on drums and vocals.  Here are the photos from the Friday night show.
