Renowned blues guitarist makes a much anticipated return to the Scottish Capital to play a blisteringly hot set to fans old and new.

Blue guitarist Joe Bonamassa
Joe Bonamassa in Concert at The Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland, Great Britain 18th April 2017

Joe Bonamassa makes a long awaited return to Scotland’s capital Edinburgh after a two year absence …last year Joe made Glasgow’s Armadillo his only Scottish date and very good it was to but can he translate that success from West to East after all “Edinburgh audiences can be a bit hard to crack”…not my words!!

The Usher Hall is an inverted wedding cake of a venue with 2 seated tiers ( not for folks with vertigo) and a fairly large standing area stage front, its world renowned for its fine acoustics which is ideal for this New York Blues guitar maestro and his amazing band of musicians , a band consisting of consisting of Reese Wynans (keyboards), Anton Fig (drums) and Michael Rhodes (bass) with Lee Thornburg and Paulie Cerra providing the brass and last but certainly not least Jade Macrae and Mahalia Barnes were the backing vocal icing on the blues rock cake.

Opening his set with the pulsating This Train, seamless moving on to Mainline Florida and Mountain Climbing.Throughout the set the clarity of sound was incredible and Joe’s guitar solos just got better and better as the night progressed. His backing band of trumpet, saxophone, drums and piano were of the highest quality each in turn doing a solo spot with the drum solo the real showstopper. The two backing singers complemented Joe’s voice to a tee and the whole show was sheer quality from start to finish.A short rendition of the Hunter preceded his final song of the night, before one encore rounded off a most memorable evening.

The crowd showed their appreciation with a well-earned rapturous applause in anticipation of seeing a master guitarist back in bonny Scotland in the near future.

With 3 of the 4 of the remaining dates sold out you’ll need to get over to Sheffield Arena on the 24th April to witness the this truly exceptional guitarist perform his amazing set
